Our website of the day is Foundations and Futures: Asian American and Pacific Islander Multimedia Textbook. Created by the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, Foundations is a free massive online textbook on Asian American history and culture. It’s authored by an impressive list of Asian American studies scholars and incredibly well-put together and researched.

it’s a great resource if you want to learn anything about Asian American history, issues, and cultural production. I was delighted to see a mention of Dae Jang Geum in the section about Hallyu — I knew it was a hit drama (and I loved watching it), but I never knew its cultural significance. (Fun fact: Dae Jang Geum was the last drama produced under my uncle’s tenure as vice-president of broadcasting at MBC. He was the one who told me to watch it!)

Again, Foundations is a FREE website that is available to anyone interested in Asian American studies. Go take a look and share it with your friends!
