Neil Young's brief collaboration with Buffalo Springfield/CSNY bandmate Stephen Stills as The Stills-Young Band was the stuff of legend: Recording a single LP together (1976's Long May You Run), heading out on tour, then Neil bailing (via telegram!) after a few shows. The album was so-so (though I think Neil's songs here are underrated), but the title track is obviously head-and-shoulders beyond the rest of the duo's brief legacy.

And, yeah, Stills and his band play on the song, but I'm gonna credit it to Neil (at least for purposes of database tracking), because it's the epitome of a 70s Neil Young track: Pretty, mid-tempo country rock full of mild twang and gentle harmonies, an earnest love song about the tight bond between a man and his car. Now, I'm not much of a car guy myself, but I get no less tingly every time I hear it.
